Boeing tackles quality, says ‘more to do,’ NY Times reports

Two years after a panel flew off a 737 Max, Boeing (BA) is doing more inspections, completing work in its intended order and making other changes, The New York Times’ Niraj Chokshi reports. While some airlines that buy Boeing planes say quality has improved and the FAA has recently eased some restrictions it imposed on Boeing after last year’s episode and two Max crashes that killed 346 people in 2018 and 2019, Boeing executives say there is more to do. “We’re right in the middle of the field, and we’ve got a long way to run,” said Katie Ringgold, the vice president and general manager of Boeing’s 737 program.
