Boeing 777x set to fly for first time in early 2027, not 2026, Bloomberg says

Boeing’s (BA) 777X aircraft is set to fly commercially for the first time in early 2027 instead of 2026, a net setback for the planemaker that could result in billions of dollars in accounting charges, Bloomberg’s Julie Johnsson and Siddharth Philip report, citing people familiar with the matter. Deutsche Lufthansa (DLAKY), the launch customer for the 777X, is already laying the groundwork for a setback, as the airline isn’t including the jet in its fleet plans until 2027, the authors say. Meanwhile, Officials at Emirates, 777X’s biggest customer, have also become more cautious about the aircraft, the authors note.
