Amazon is aiming to lower that it pays suppliers for goods it sells on its ecommerce platform, as the tech behemoth seeks to reverse concessions meant to limit the shock of President Trump’s tariffs, the Financial Times’ Rafe Rosner-Uddin reports. The company has sought discounts from suppliers ranging from low-single digits to as much as 30%, the author says, citing several vendor consultants. The tech giant had accelerated discussions with some suppliers by several weeks and in a number of cases had aimed to impose a January 1 deadline, the author says, noting that such moves come before a Supreme Court ruling on the legality of the tariffs expected this week.
