Puneet Souda has given his Buy rating due to a combination of factors surrounding Waters Corporation’s strategic acquisition of Halo Labs. This acquisition is seen as a positive move, enhancing Waters’ capabilities in the analysis and quality control of large and complex molecules. The integration of Halo Labs’ Aura platform, which is well-suited for high-throughput particle analysis, complements Waters’ existing portfolio and supports its growth ambitions in the biologics sector.
Furthermore, the acquisition aligns with Waters’ strategic expansion into the biologics and advanced therapies market. The innovative technologies of Halo Labs, such as Backgrounded Membrane Imaging and Fluorescence Membrane Microscopy, provide detailed particle characterization crucial for early-stage development and quality assurance in cell therapy manufacturing. These advancements are expected to bolster Waters’ position in the market, contributing to its projected growth in the coming years.
In another report released yesterday, Wells Fargo also maintained a Buy rating on the stock with a $420.00 price target.
WAT’s price has also changed slightly for the past six months – from $368.500 to $347.360, which is a -5.74% drop .
