Ronald Epstein has given his Buy rating due to a combination of factors tied to TransDigm’s latest acquisition and the company’s value proposition. He views the Stellant Systems purchase favorably, highlighting that Stellant brings a sizable revenue base with a strong aftermarket mix and a portfolio composed almost entirely of proprietary products, which historically aligns well with TransDigm’s high-margin, pricing-power model. The acquisition is expected to enhance TransDigm’s exposure to defense and space end markets through Stellant’s microwave tubes, power modules, and satellite-related systems, broadening the company’s mission-critical component offering. In Epstein’s view, this deal fits TransDigm’s disciplined M&A track record and should be accretive to growth and profitability over time.
Epstein also notes that the stock’s current trading level remains below his price objective of $1,615, indicating meaningful upside potential from the prevailing market price. He believes investors will likely respond positively to the Stellant transaction given its scale relative to TransDigm and the quality of Stellant’s aftermarket and defense-related revenue. The acquisition serves as another example of TransDigm’s ability to deploy capital into niche, high-value aerospace and defense assets, supporting continued earnings expansion. Taken together, these strategic, financial, and valuation considerations underpin his decision to reiterate a Buy rating on TransDigm Group shares.
TDG’s price has also changed moderately for the past six months – from $1520.640 to $1329.850, which is a -12.55% drop .
