George Staphos has given his Buy rating due to a combination of factors including O-I Glass’s current valuation and the potential benefits from its internal initiatives over time. The company reported better-than-expected results for the quarter, especially in the Americas, where strong volume and mix improvements enhanced profitability. However, the European segment fell short of expectations, with weaker volume and mix metrics impacting performance.
Despite these challenges, the company’s guidance for 2025 aligns closely with its initial projections, and the EPS guidance, while slightly below current estimates, remains within a reasonable range. Additionally, the capital expenditure forecast is lower than previously anticipated, providing a positive outlook on cash flow. O-I Glass’s ability to absorb fixed costs with increased volumes further supports the Buy rating, indicating potential for future growth and profitability.
In another report released on January 23, RBC Capital also maintained a Buy rating on the stock with a $16.00 price target.
