Tom Nikic’s rating is based on several factors, including the recent performance and future outlook of Lululemon Athletica. Despite a lackluster first-quarter performance, where the company experienced a 23% drop in its stock price in the aftermarket, Nikic believes the market reaction was overly harsh compared to the modest 2.5% guidance cut. This reduction was primarily due to tariff impacts, and management remains optimistic about the potential of new product lines.
Additionally, while domestic growth has been slow and international comparable growth has decreased significantly, the company still managed to exceed earnings per share (EPS) expectations for the quarter. Nikic also notes that Lululemon has maintained its full-year revenue growth outlook, albeit with a slight reduction in EPS guidance. These elements combined suggest that the stock presents a buying opportunity, as the company’s fundamentals and growth potential remain solid despite current challenges.
In another report released today, KeyBanc also reiterated a Buy rating on the stock with a $350.00 price target.
