Itron’s Strategic Acquisitions Poised to Drive Growth and Enhance Utility Sector Efficiency

Jeff Osborne, an analyst from TD Cowen, maintained the Buy rating on Itron. The associated price target remains the same with $145.00.

TipRanks Black Friday Sale

Jeff Osborne has given his Buy rating due to a combination of factors that highlight Itron’s strategic acquisitions and their potential impact on the company’s growth. The recent acquisition of Locusview, a SaaS platform focused on enhancing construction management efficiency for utilities, is expected to broaden Itron’s reach within the utility sector. This acquisition complements the earlier purchase of Urbint, which added operational resilience solutions to Itron’s offerings, thereby positioning the company to capitalize on the growing need for energy resilience.
With the Locusview acquisition, Itron is set to enhance its software portfolio by integrating digital construction management capabilities, which are anticipated to improve the productivity and efficiency of utility construction projects. The seamless integration of data into utility systems is expected to expedite asset booking and facilitate quicker monetization of new infrastructure. These strategic moves are seen as pivotal for Itron as utilities face challenges related to load growth and grid modernization, making the company’s prospects favorable heading into 2026.

According to TipRanks, Osborne is a 4-star analyst with an average return of 3.9% and a 44.13% success rate. Osborne covers the Technology sector, focusing on stocks such as SolarEdge Technologies, First Solar, and Itron.

In another report released on November 3, Stephens also upgraded the stock to a Buy with a $130.00 price target.
