Andrew Jeffrey has given his Buy rating due to a combination of factors that highlight Chime Financial’s potential for growth and resilience in the current market. Despite concerns about consumer credit risks affecting digital finance companies, Jeffrey believes these fears are overstated, particularly for Chime, due to the short duration of its consumer liquidity products and its strong customer base.
Chime’s revenue and profit estimates for 2026 and 2027 have been raised, reflecting robust growth in MyPay volume and improving loss rates as its earned wage access product matures. The company’s significant exposure to nondiscretionary interchange-driven revenue and the short duration of MyPay loans, which are underwritten using direct deposit data, contribute to a lower overall credit risk. Additionally, Chime is well-positioned to capture market share from traditional banks by serving less affluent customers and younger consumers seeking superior digital experiences. The company’s potential to double its ARPAM over the next decade and achieve meaningful fixed-cost leverage further supports the Buy rating.

Jeffrey covers the Technology sector, focusing on stocks such as Block, Affirm Holdings, and Shift4 Payments. According to TipRanks, Jeffrey has an average return of 14.9% and a 64.02% success rate on recommended stocks.

In another report released today, Arete Research also initiated coverage with a Buy rating on the stock with a $34.00 price target.
