Christopher Rolland has given his Buy rating due to a combination of factors tied to AMD’s strengthening fundamentals and expanding AI opportunity. He anticipates slightly better-than-expected fourth-quarter results, supported by robust data center demand in both server CPUs and MI350 GPUs, alongside healthier PC sales. Rolland highlights the ongoing ramp of MI350 through the first half of 2026 and expects a much steeper acceleration in data center GPU revenue in late 2026 with the launch of MI450, underpinned by AMD’s multi-gigawatt AI hardware agreement with OpenAI and other large-scale AI deployments. He also points to encouraging checks on EPYC server CPUs, noting that demand appears strong enough that certain server CPU configurations are effectively sold out well into 2026, signaling sustained data center share gains.

In client computing, Rolland sees upside from a stronger-than-anticipated PC build environment, likely helped by the Windows 10 end-of-life refresh and favorable memory pricing dynamics, even though he expects seasonally softer PC results in early 2026 due to memory constraints. He further notes improving conditions in embedded markets, including FPGAs, and positive indicators in gaming graphics, with AMD gaining some aftermarket GPU share and benefiting from higher GPU pricing tied to memory shortages. Taken together, these drivers support his view of meaningful revenue growth, particularly in GPUs where he models around $16 billion in 2026 sales with additional upside from new large AI customer wins. Based on this growth outlook and expanding AI footprint, Rolland reiterates a positive stance on the stock and maintains a $300 price target, implying a premium valuation supported by AMD’s long-term secular opportunities.

In another report released yesterday, TipRanks – Google also reiterated a Buy rating on the stock with a $284.00 price target.
