Tenstorrent has introduced its first compact, modular AI accelerator, developed in partnership with Razer and unveiled at CES 2026, positioning the company to extend its AI hardware and software ecosystem to mobile and edge developers. The Thunderbolt 4/5-connected device leverages Tenstorrent’s Wormhole architecture and open-source software stack to run LLMs, image generation, and broader AI/ML workloads locally on standard laptops, with the option to link up to four units for desktop-class, multi-chip experimentation and deployment at the edge. By turning widely available laptops into portable AI workstations, Tenstorrent is lowering entry barriers to its platform, potentially accelerating developer adoption and broadening its addressable market across independent developers, startups, and enterprise teams experimenting with edge AI.

Tenstorrent positions this product as a strategic step to grow its open developer ecosystem, using a hardware form factor that can scale from single-node testing to small clusters while maintaining software continuity with its larger systems. The collaboration with Razer gives Tenstorrent access to a high-performance enclosure design and a brand rooted in demanding, mobile power users, reinforcing the accelerator’s focus on performance, flexibility, and mobility for AI work on the edge. Executives highlight that a plug-in laptop device is intended to “unlock the next generation of developers” on Tenstorrent’s open platform, aligning with the company’s broader thesis of open, editable architectures and software. Pricing and availability have not yet been disclosed, but the CES debut and presence in dedicated demo rooms signal a go-to-market push aimed at seeding the developer community and strengthening Tenstorrent’s position in the competitive AI accelerator landscape, particularly in use cases where cloud dependency, latency, or data governance make local inference attractive.
