The company has launched a live in-app call identification feature aimed at protecting customers from scam calls, including those using AI deepfake voices and advanced social engineering tactics. When users receive a call claiming to be from Revolut, a banner or pop-up in the app will either confirm the call as genuine or warn that it is not. On iOS, the banner appears automatically when the app is opened during a call; on Android, users can enable it via the Security settings under “Stay safe from scam calls.” The feature is currently available in the UK and the EEA (excluding Spain).
For investors, this development highlights Revolut’s continued investment in security and fraud prevention, a critical factor in user trust and retention in digital banking and fintech. Strengthening protections against increasingly sophisticated scams may reduce fraud-related losses, customer disputes, and potential regulatory scrutiny over consumer protection. It also enhances Revolut’s competitive positioning versus other neobanks and traditional banks by differentiating on security features, which can support user growth and engagement over time. While the direct revenue impact of this specific feature is likely limited in the near term, it contributes to the robustness of Revolut’s platform and its long-term brand value in regulated financial markets.
