Jelou has secured a $10 million Series A round to accelerate deployment of its Brain platform, which enables AI agents to execute secure financial and operational transactions directly inside WhatsApp conversations. The round, led by Wellington Access Ventures with participation from Krealo (Credicorp’s corporate venture arm) and Collide Capital, brings Jelou’s total funding to $13 million, following an earlier $3 million Seed round led by Act One Ventures and Arca Continental Ventures. Jelou’s core proposition is to close the gap between conversational engagement and transaction execution: instead of pushing customers to apps, portals, or call centers for payments, identity verification, credit processes, or signatures, Jelou’s AI agents perform these workflows inside chat while integrating with existing enterprise systems. The Brain platform offers a web-based studio with more than 3,000 integrations and a management layer for overseeing high-volume interactions, allowing enterprises to maintain control, security, and compliance while automating end‑to‑end financial and operational flows.

Founded in Ecuador in 2017 by CEO Luis Loaiza and Alberto Vera, Jelou has grown into a regional player in Latin America, processing over $100 million in financial operations for more than 500 business customers across 13+ countries, including banks, retailers, logistics firms, and consumer goods companies. The business is positioned at the intersection of three forces: WhatsApp’s dominance as the primary customer interface in Latin America, mounting pressure on enterprises to cut operating costs and improve conversion, and a shift from AI that only responds to queries toward agents that can securely execute transactions. Investors view Jelou as an early mover in building a unified application layer that combines voice and chat AI with payments and identity, tailored for complex regulatory and infrastructure environments. With the new capital, Jelou plans to evolve Brain into a full operating system for conversational business, enabling companies and developers to build, deploy, and manage production-ready WhatsApp applications from a prompt, and advancing its ambition to make WhatsApp the main operating layer for businesses across the region.
