Cerula Care is deepening its role in integrated cancer care through its partnership with Virginia Oncology Associates (VOA), highlighted by a new joint podcast episode that positions behavioral health as a core component of oncology treatment. Since launching their collaboration in January 2024, Cerula Care has enrolled more than 850 VOA patients into its oncology-specific behavioral health program, delivered via a collaborative care model that embeds psychiatric expertise into oncology workflows. The podcast features Cerula Care’s cofounder and Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Kyle Lavin, alongside a VOA oncologist and a former patient, underscoring how the company’s model addresses high rates of depression, anxiety, and adjustment disorders among cancer patients—conditions that can undermine adherence, increase hospitalizations, and affect survival if left untreated. Cerula Care reports that its Collaborative Care Model (CoCM) has achieved a 62% reduction in depression symptoms and a 57% reduction in anxiety within four months, outcomes that directly support its value proposition to oncology practices, payers, and health systems.
