Dollar Tree (DLTR) stock took a beating on Wednesday following the release of the discount retail chain’s Q2 2025 earnings report. The company reported adjusted earnings per share of 77 cents, compared to Wall Street’s estimate of 42 cents. It also represented a 13.2% increase year-over-year from 68 cents. Dollar Tree noted its adjusted EPS received a 20-cent boost from the timing of inventory mark-on and tariffs.

Dollar Tree reported revenue of $4.57 billion in Q2 2025, which was better than analysts’ estimate of $4.48 billion. It also rose 12.3% year-over-year from $4.07 billion. The company noted this increase was fueled by a 6.5% increase in same-store sales, a 3% increase in traffic, and a 3.4% increase in average ticket. Investors will also note that Dollar Tree opened 106 new stores and completed its sale of the Family Dollar business.
Dollar Tree stock was down 5.79% in pre-market trading on Wednesday, following a 2% increase yesterday. The shares have also increased 48.59% year-to-date and 75.19% over the past 12 months.

Dollar Tree Guidance
Dollar Tree provided updated guidance in its latest earnings report. For Q3 2025, the company said it expects a reversal of the 20-cent boost it saw in Q2. As a result, the company expects adjusted EPS for the period to be similar to Q2 2024.
For the full year of 2025, Dollar Tree expects adjusted EPS of $5.32 to $5.72 alongside revenue of $19.3 billion to $19.5 billion. With a midpoint of $5.52 per share and $19.4 billion in revenue, the company’s outlook is set to beat Wall Street’s estimates of $5.47 per share and $19.15 billion in revenue.
