The iShares Ethereum Trust ETF, ETHA, saw sizeable redemptions on January 26, 2026, with investors pulling out $44.49 million in a single session. The outflow, while representing a modest 0.44% of the fund’s latest $10.10 billion in assets under management (AUM), signals a notable bout of caution toward Ethereum-linked products after a choppy quarter for the underlying token.

The related asset, ETH-USD, is currently trading around $2,905, having shed roughly 28.7% over the past three months. The short-term picture looks fragile as well, with the 1-day technical signal flashing a cautious Sell. The combination of sustained price weakness and bearish near-term momentum appears to be driving some investors to lock in remaining gains or cut losses via ETF redemptions.

Still, ETHA’s overall AUM base remains robust, suggesting that while speculative capital may be retreating at the margin, core holders are largely staying put. The recent outflow could therefore reflect tactical repositioning rather than a wholesale abandonment of Ethereum exposure, particularly as investors await clearer signals on macro policy, regulatory developments, and the next leg in the crypto cycle.
