Tuniu Corporation is a prominent online leisure travel company in China, offering a wide range of travel services and packaged tours through its online and offline platforms. In its first quarter of 2025 financial results, Tuniu reported a steady increase in revenues, primarily driven by its core packaged tour products, which saw a 19.3% year-over-year growth. However, the company faced challenges with a decrease in other revenues and a significant increase in the cost of revenues, impacting its overall profitability. Key financial metrics revealed that Tuniu’s net revenues rose by 8.9% year-over-year to RMB117.5 million, while the cost of revenues surged by 85.9%, leading to a gross profit decline of 15.5%. Operating expenses increased by 14.9%, contributing to a loss from operations of RMB10.8 million compared to an income from operations in the previous year. Looking ahead, Tuniu remains optimistic about its growth prospects, projecting a 12% to 17% increase in net revenues for the second quarter of 2025, as it continues to focus on innovation and enhancing customer experiences.
