Transportadora de Gas del Sur (tgs) is a leading company in Argentina’s natural gas transportation sector, handling about 60% of the country’s gas consumption through an extensive pipeline network. The company also plays a significant role in natural gas processing and has substantial investments in the Vaca Muerta formation, positioning itself as a major midstream player in Argentina. Its shares are listed on the NYSE and BYMA, with Compañía de Inversiones de Energía S.A. as its controlling shareholder.

In the second quarter of 2025, tgs reported a total comprehensive income of Ps. 40,278 million, a significant drop from Ps. 119,739 million in the same period of 2024. This decline was primarily due to reduced revenues in key segments and increased costs. Despite these challenges, the company successfully restored operations at the Cerri Complex after a severe weather event and participated in a tender for expanding the Perito Moreno Gas Pipeline.

The company’s operating profit for 2Q2025 was Ps. 122,575 million, down from Ps. 176,935 million in 2Q2024. The decrease was attributed to lower revenues in the Liquids and Natural Gas Transportation segments, which were partially offset by increased revenues in the Midstream segment. Additionally, financial results showed a negative variation of Ps. 76,660 million, influenced by lower financial asset results and unfavorable exchange rate differences.

Despite the financial challenges, tgs made strategic moves, including a cash dividend distribution and securing a 20-year extension of its operating license. The company also adjusted its tariff update mechanism to a monthly basis, reflecting changes in consumer and wholesale price indices.

Looking ahead, tgs remains focused on leveraging its infrastructure and strategic position in Argentina’s energy sector. The management is optimistic about future growth opportunities, particularly in expanding its transportation capacity and enhancing operational efficiencies.
