An announcement from Touchstone Exploration ( (TSE:TXP) ) is now available.
Touchstone Exploration has reported promising drilling results from its Carapal Ridge-3 development well on the Central block in Trinidad and Tobago, the first well drilled into the Carapal Ridge pool in 17 years. The well encountered approximately 1,082 feet of net sand, including about 1,000 feet of net Herrera sand with hydrocarbon-bearing zones both above and below a key shale marker, as well as 82 feet of net Karamat sands that establish a secondary gas-charged play. Although CR-3 came in roughly 25% over budget due to additional work needed to control natural gas flows from previously unproduced Karamat sands, it was drilled successfully to 8,200 feet and cased for future production, incorporating a horizontal section to maximise exposure to unproduced Herrera sands. Completion operations are under way, with tie-in to the Central block natural gas processing facility targeted for the first quarter of 2026, and the results reinforce the company’s seismic model and support the potential for up to three additional Herrera development wells on the block while opening a new standalone Karamat prospect, underpinning future gas volumes and strengthening Touchstone’s growth pipeline in Trinidad.
