Since the programme began in August 2025, the bank has repurchased and intends to cancel a total of 62,222,365 shares for an aggregate consideration of about US$1.3 billion, reducing its share count to 2,253,842,687 and thereby increasing earnings per share and consolidating voting rights for remaining shareholders.
