Skanska AB ( ($SE:SKA.B) ) has provided an announcement.
Skanska has secured a contract worth about SEK 500 million from Swedish grid operator Svenska kraftnät to expand the electricity network in western Stockholm, a deal that will be recorded in Skanska Sweden’s first-quarter 2026 order bookings. The project covers groundwork and the installation of a new 10-kilometre 400 kV cable connection between Kronåsen and Råcksta, part of a broader shift from 220 kV to higher-capacity 400 kV lines to bolster grid capacity, operational reliability and the long-term security of the Stockholm region’s power supply. With high sustainability ambitions and planned BREEAM Infrastructure certification, preparations start immediately, construction begins after summer 2026 and completion is targeted for autumn 2030, underscoring Skanska’s role in critical energy infrastructure and green-certified infrastructure development.
