Pampa Energía is a leading independent energy company in Argentina, actively involved in the oil, gas, and electricity sectors, with a focus on leveraging its Vaca Muerta reserves for growth.
In its latest earnings report for the first quarter of 2025, Pampa Energía reported a 3% increase in sales to US$414 million, driven by higher spot energy prices and contributions from the newly commissioned PEPE 6 wind farm. However, the company faced challenges with lower petrochemical volumes and reduced gas sales to industries and Chile.
Key financial highlights include a 17% rise in adjusted EBITDA to US$220 million, attributed to increased energy prices and higher gas volumes under Plan Gas. Despite these gains, net profit fell by 43% to US$153 million, primarily due to a smaller recovery from deferred income tax and rising operating costs. The company also reported a net debt of US$577 million, reflecting increased working capital needs and investments in the Rincón de Aranda development.
Strategically, Pampa Energía is advancing with the FLNG Project for LNG exports, which involves a significant investment of US$7 billion over 20 years. This project aims to enhance Argentina’s position in the global LNG market and is expected to begin operations in late 2027.
Looking ahead, Pampa Energía remains focused on optimizing its operations and capitalizing on strategic projects to drive growth and enhance shareholder value, while navigating the challenges posed by fluctuating market conditions.
