Miata Metals Corp. ( (TSE:MMET) ) has issued an announcement.
Miata Metals has expanded its exploration capacity at the Sela Creek Gold Project in Suriname with the arrival of a new Sandvik 710 track-mounted diamond drill rig, enabling a fully funded 25,000-metre drill program planned for 2026. Building on a 2025 campaign that delivered 10,061 metres of drilling, a 100% hit rate at the Jons Trend zone and identification of multiple new mineralized areas, the company plans to split next year’s drilling roughly evenly between further delineation of the Jons Trend—now emerging as a 750-by-250-metre zone open in all directions—and systematic discovery work across at least six high-priority targets including Puma East, Puma West, Big Berg, Howler, Stranger and Golden Hand. Operational upgrades such as a new on-site prep lab, improved wet-season access and expanded fuel storage are expected to lower per-metre drilling costs and support continuous year-round operations, signalling an aggressive push to scale exploration, de-risk the project and potentially unlock significant new gold resources for stakeholders at Sela Creek.
