Litchfield Minerals Starts Maiden Diamond Drilling at Oonagalabi’s High-Priority Bomb-Diggity Targets

Story Highlights
  • Litchfield Minerals has begun a 1,000-metre, NTGS-backed maiden diamond drilling campaign at its Oonagalabi Project to test the Bomb-Diggity and Magnetic Finger intrusive-related targets.
  • The drilling program aims to define intrusive sources and structural pathways behind a large copper-zinc system with a later gold-bismuth overprint, potentially confirming a major mineral system along the Oonagalabi corridor.

The latest announcement is out from Litchfield Minerals Ltd. ( (AU:LMS) ).

Litchfield Minerals has commenced its maiden diamond drilling campaign at the Oonagalabi Project, launching a two-hole, 1,000-metre program co-funded by the Northern Territory Geological Survey to test two priority intrusive-related targets known as Bomb-Diggity and the Oonagalabi Main Zone “Magnetic Finger.” The work aims to identify the intrusive sources and structural pathways driving a large-scale copper-zinc system with a later gold-silver-bismuth overprint, with previous RC drilling already confirming significant Cu-Zn mineralisation and magnetite-associated gold-bismuth zones. By directly drilling a pipe-like magnetic target interpreted as a potential heat and fluid source and an elongated magnetite-rich feature potentially analogous to Tennant Creek–style IOCG systems, Litchfield is seeking to demonstrate that the Oonagalabi corridor hosts a major mineral system, which could materially enhance the project’s exploration significance and future development potential.
