An update from Peak Minerals ( (AU:LRM) ) is now available.
Lion Rock reported strong December quarter progress at its Minta Rutile & Monazite Project in Cameroon, with first-pass drilling confirming exceptional in-situ rutile grades of up to 2.2% and rutile making up as much as 71% of the heavy mineral assemblage in some composites. The company also defined a ~250km² monazite-enriched granite at Minta Est as the primary source of monazite, xenotime and zircon coincident with high-grade rutile zones, underpinning a high-value mineral basket and supporting a dual residual–alluvial development strategy. More than 1,000 holes of infill drilling are planned over an initial 250km² at Minta Est, with 285 completed by quarter end, while development of an in-country laboratory in Yaoundé with heavy-liquid separation capability is expected to cut assay turnaround times and improve data quality. A completed A$8.6 million strategic placement to Tronox Holdings, which now holds about 5% of Lion Rock and is providing mine-to-pigment technical support, leaves the company well funded to accelerate exploration, mineralogical and metallurgical work programs across Minta in 2026.
