Bank of Georgia Group Plc ( (GB:BGEO) ) just unveiled an update.
Lion Finance Group PLC has announced a series of senior management changes at group level and within its key Georgian banking subsidiary, Bank of Georgia. Long-serving acting CFO Sulkhan Gvalia will step down from his executive roles in March 2026 after a 20-year career with the group, remaining on the supervisory boards of several subsidiaries, including Ameriabank in Armenia. He will be succeeded by former maib CEO Giorgi Shagidze, who will become Group CFO with responsibility for group finance and international growth, and Deputy CEO, CFO of Bank of Georgia, subject to regulatory approvals. Shagidze brings extensive regional and international banking experience, including digital transformation leadership at maib and previous senior roles at TBC Bank Group and Barclays. In a further move, Bank of Georgia’s head of Mass Retail Banking, Giorgi Gureshidze, has been promoted to Deputy CEO, also subject to regulatory approval. The appointments underscore Lion Finance Group’s focus on strengthening its finance function, accelerating digital and customer-centric transformation, and supporting its international expansion ambitions in the wider region.
