Kosmos Energy ( (KOS) ) has shared an update.
Kosmos Energy has provided an operational and financial update highlighting increased oil output from Ghana and growing LNG volumes from its Mauritania-Senegal project, alongside steps to optimize its capital structure. In Ghana, the company has brought a second producer well in the Jubilee 2025-2026 development campaign close to first oil, lifting expected gross field production to nearly 70,000 barrels per day at the start of 2026, while base decline moderates and additional wells are sanctioned for this year. The Ghanaian government has approved license extensions for the West Cape Three Points and Deep Water Tano petroleum agreements covering the Jubilee and TEN fields through 2040, paving the way for up to 20 more Jubilee wells, an expected increase in 2P reserves, and a future 10% rise in state-owned GNPC’s stake from 2036. The TEN partnership has also agreed final terms to acquire the field’s FPSO when its lease expires in 2027, a move expected to significantly lower operating costs and improve Kosmos’s leverage. In Mauritania and Senegal, the GTA LNG project reached nameplate capacity in December 2025 and lifted 18.5 LNG cargos last year, with the partnership anticipating nearly double the cargo liftings in 2026 as ramp-up continues. Financially, Kosmos has drawn $100 million from its Gulf of America Term Facility and moved to redeem its remaining 2026 unsecured notes, while securing lender waivers that clear the way to issue new secured financing as it prepares to refinance 2027 debt maturities, underscoring an active focus on debt management and balance sheet flexibility.
