Gran Tierra Energy ( (GTE) ) has provided an update.
Gran Tierra Energy reported its seventh consecutive year of South American reserves growth for 2025, achieving more than 100% reserve replacement on a proved developed producing and proved plus probable basis and booking 2P reserves of 258 MMBOE. Despite a lower five‑year average Brent price driving a decline in net present value, the company’s reserves still carry a before-tax NPV10 of $1.5 billion for 1P and $2.5 billion for 2P, equating to before-tax net asset values per share of $22.63 (1P) and $51.09 (2P), with reserve life indices of 8 years (1P) and 15 years (2P). South America remains the company’s primary growth engine, underpinned by new discoveries, high-quality multi-zone reservoirs, and strategic Ecuador acquisitions, while Canadian natural gas volumes in the Glauconitic play were reclassified from reserves to contingent resources due to pricing assumptions, a move management frames as capital discipline that preserves upside leverage to higher gas prices. The company highlights a strong cash-flowing PDP base supporting debt reduction, significant contingent and prospective resources including sizable gas volumes, and a demonstrated ability to convert 2P reserves into producing barrels, reinforcing its long-term value proposition and operational flexibility across both oil and gas markets.
