D.R. Horton, Inc., known as America’s Builder, is the largest homebuilder by volume in the United States, operating in the residential construction sector. The company is engaged in the construction and sale of high-quality homes and rental properties across 126 markets in 36 states.

In its fiscal 2025 third-quarter earnings report, D.R. Horton reported a net income of $1.0 billion, or $3.36 per diluted share, marking a decrease from the previous year. The company also declared a quarterly dividend of $0.40 per share, reflecting its commitment to returning capital to shareholders.

Key financial highlights for the quarter include consolidated revenues of $9.2 billion, a 7% decline from the previous year, and home sales revenues of $8.6 billion from 23,160 homes closed. The company repurchased 9.7 million shares for $1.2 billion and maintained strong liquidity with a cash balance of $2.6 billion. Despite a decrease in net income and revenues, D.R. Horton continues to leverage its operational results and strong balance sheet to maximize shareholder returns.

The company’s homebuilding operations saw a decrease in both revenue and homes closed compared to the previous year. However, the company’s strategic focus on maintaining a disciplined approach to capital allocation and enhancing long-term value remains steadfast. D.R. Horton’s rental operations also experienced a decline in pre-tax income and revenues, but the company continues to sell single-family and multi-family rental properties.

Looking ahead, D.R. Horton remains focused on maximizing returns through its affordable product offerings and flexible lot supply. The company anticipates maintaining elevated sales incentives in response to ongoing affordability constraints and cautious consumer sentiment, while continuing to return capital to shareholders through dividends and share repurchases.
