Caledonia Mining Corporation Plc, a gold mining company, operates primarily in Zimbabwe and is known for its Blanket Mine and exploration projects at Bilboes and Motapa. In the first quarter of 2025, Caledonia Mining reported a strong financial performance with a 46% increase in gold revenue, reaching $56.2 million, and a gross profit of $26.9 million, nearly doubling from the previous year. The company also achieved a significant rise in net profit attributable to shareholders, which soared by 493% to $8.9 million, and an adjusted EPS of 58.5 cents, reflecting a 503% increase. Gold production rose by 9.3% to 19,106 ounces, supported by higher realized gold prices and increased production at Blanket Mine. Despite a rise in on-mine costs and all-in sustaining costs, the company maintained a strong cash flow, with net cash from operating activities more than doubling to $13.3 million. The successful sale of a solar plant further improved Caledonia’s cash position, providing financial flexibility for future growth. Looking ahead, Caledonia remains focused on maximizing production at Blanket Mine, optimizing the Bilboes project, and exploring the potential at Motapa, with a reaffirmed production guidance of 74,000 to 78,000 ounces of gold for 2025.
