Burford Capital Shifts to US Domestic Issuer Status

Burford Capital (GB:BUR) has released an update.

Burford Capital, a leading global finance and asset management firm focused on law, has announced its transition to a US domestic issuer as its US ownership now exceeds 50%, triggering a shift from its status as a ‘foreign private issuer’. This change, effective from January 1, 2025, will bring new reporting requirements and is expected to enhance the firm’s investability in the US market. Despite the transition, Burford’s ordinary shares will remain dual-listed on the New York and London Stock Exchanges.
