AIB Group ( (AIBRF) ) has provided an update.
AIB Group has completed its second significant risk transfer on a portfolio of around €2 billion of residential mortgage assets, part of a multi‑year, multi‑asset programme designed to improve capital efficiency. The transaction reduces risk‑weighted assets by about €800 million and delivers an initial uplift of roughly 25 basis points to the group’s Common Equity Tier 1 (CET1) capital ratio, partially offsetting the previously announced 70‑basis‑point CET1 impact from the cancellation of warrants held by the Irish Minister for Finance and resulting in a pro‑forma CET1 ratio of about 16.15% at September. Following the European Central Bank’s latest Supervisory Review and Evaluation Process, AIB’s Pillar 2 Requirement will remain unchanged at 2.40% for 2026, leaving the bank well above its minimum CET1 regulatory requirement of 11.30% and underscoring its strong capital position and continued buffer for creditors and shareholders.
