AF Gruppen has signed an implementation agreement with Statsbygg worth an estimated NOK 123 million, excluding VAT, to partially rehabilitate the historic Vikingship building at Bygdøy as part of the New Viking Age Museum project in Oslo. The contract covers about 4,500 square metres of interior rehabilitation to house the future museum’s main entrance, shop, teaching areas and offices, and will be executed as a collaborative project, with phase 2 scheduled to start in June 2026 and finish in the third quarter of 2027; potential options for roof and façade rehabilitation could increase the contract’s value, underscoring AF Gruppen’s growing role and specialized competence in preserving protected buildings within Norway’s cultural infrastructure.
