Berkshire Hathaway CEO Warren Buffett’s Net Worth Surges $11.5B Higher

Berkshire Hathaway’s (BRK.A) Warren Buffett has done well in 2025, despite the continued pressure the market faces from a trade war, tariffs, inflation, and interest rates. That’s seen the billionaire investor’s net worth increase by $11.5 billion year-to-date, bringing his total net worth to $154 billion and making him the fourth richest man in the world, according to the Bloomberg Billionaire Index.

Warren Buffett’s deft trading skills are what have brought him gains in a rough year. The Berkshire Hathaway (BRK.B) CEO made some important trades over the last year that helped protect his net worth. That includes selling a massive amount of Apple (AAPL) shares in 2024 and building cash reserves. This helped him avoid AAPL stock’s 2025 fall due to President Donald Trump’s trade policies.

How Warren Buffett Compares to Other Billionaires

Warren Buffett’s net worth increase in 2025 makes him stand out compared to the other nine of the top 10 billionaires. He’s the only one whose net worth rose as others suffered the effects of a volatile stock market. For example, Tesla (TSLA) CEO Elon Musk, the richest man in the world with a net worth of $298 billion, has seen his net worth drop $135 billion since the start of 2025.

Buffett also isn’t the only billionaire whose net worth has increased during economic turmoil. Zhang Yiming, the co-founder of TikTok parent company ByteDance, saw his net worth increase by $13.6 billion, while Susquehanna International Group founder Jeff Yass’ net worth has risen $11.5 billion.
