Chorus Limited (CHRUF) has released an update.
Chorus Limited has achieved a significant milestone by transitioning Birkdale exchange in Auckland to its first fibre-only exchange, as part of phasing out approximately 90,000 copper connections in favor of fibre. The company’s fibre network footprint expanded by 7,000 addresses, with a slight increase in uptake to 71.6%, and a notable rise in demand for its multi-gigabit Hyperfibre service, particularly among residential customers. Despite this growth, there was a slight decrease in average monthly data usage on fibre to 609GB.
