SoftBank Group (SFTBY) is seeking a $10B loan secured by its shares in OpenAI, Laura Benitez, Apple Ka Ying Li, and Kari Soo Lindberg of Bloomberg reports, people familiar with the matter said. The two-year margin loan would carry the option for the company to extend borrowing by another year, the sources added. Softbank has been piling on debt as founder Masayoshi Son looks to position himself as a leader in global AI.
