Roblox sued by Los Angeles County over child protections, NBC LA reports

Roblox (RBLX) is facing a lawsuit from Los Angeles County alleging the company engaged in unfair and deceptive practices that exposed children to sexual content and online predators, Jonathan Lloyd of NBC Los Angeles reports. The complaint claims Roblox failed to implement adequate moderation and age-verification safeguards despite promoting the platform as safe for children. “This lawsuit is about protecting children from online predators and inappropriate content,” LA County Board of Supervisors Chair Hilda Solis said in a statement. “Roblox has a responsibility to keep kids safe, but instead it has allowed its platform to become a place where children can be exposed to grooming and exploitation.”
