Greece will prohibit access to social media for children under the age of 15 starting January 1, 2027 due to rising anxiety, sleep issues and the addictive design of the sites, Reuters’ Antonis Pothitos reports, citing a video message by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis. The PM said young people spending long hours in front of screens does not allow their minds to rest and they face increasing pressure from constant comparison and online comments. Publicly traded companies in the space include Meta Platforms (META), Pinterest (PINS), Reddit (RDDT) and Snap (SNAP).
