American Airlines (AAL) is looking to gain clearance to operate U.S. flights to Caracas and Maracaibo in Venezuela from Miami through its regional carrier Envoy, Reuters’ David Shepardson reports, citing a filing with the U.S. Transportation Department. Last month, DOT Secretary Sean Duffy rescinded a 2019 order that prohibited U.S. carriers from flying to Venezuela, following directions from President Trump, the author notes.
