Paren Inc Spotlights Canada’s Fast EV Charging Growth and Market Maturation in New Q4 2025 Report

Paren Inc has released its first State of the Canadian Fast EV Charging Industry Report for Q4 2025, drawing on real-time data from more than 95% of DC fast-charging ports in Canada and the U.S. The report shows Canada added 1,925 new DC fast-charging ports in 2025, a 28% year-over-year increase, bringing the total to 8,804.

Growth is concentrated in British Columbia, Quebec, and Ontario, with expanding corridor buildout in the Prairies and Atlantic Canada. Paren highlights that utilization rose from Q3 to Q4, with several large metro areas nearing capacity constraints while lower utilization in smaller provinces reflects geography-driven corridor expansion rather than weak demand.

The report cites a national average fast-charging price of $0.42 per kWh in Q4 2025, with provincial averages ranging from below $0.40 to $0.65 per kWh. This pricing dispersion underscores differing regional economics and regulatory environments that may shape operator margins and competitive dynamics.

Reliability remains strong, with scores above 90 in most provinces and only modest pressure in higher-demand markets as utilization climbs. Sustained reliability at scale supports EV adoption and network throughput, which is a positive indicator for infrastructure operators and for data and software providers that monitor performance.

Paren positions itself as a leading analytics and insights provider in the North American EV charging ecosystem by publishing the detailed report and hosting an on-demand webinar featuring its CTO and CEO. This thought-leadership push could deepen its relationships with utilities, charge-point operators, financiers, and policymakers, reinforcing its role in planning, benchmarking, and investment decisions across the fast-charging value chain.
