GovWell has raised $25 million in Series A funding led by Insight Partners, with participation from existing backers Work-Bench and Bienville Capital and several GovTech industry veterans, bringing total capital to $34.5 million. The company plans to use the funds to accelerate product development, deepen AI capabilities, and expand sales and implementation across municipalities and counties nationwide.
Positioning itself as an AI operating system for modern government, GovWell replaces legacy permitting and licensing software and reports processing time reductions of up to 95% for customers. Its platform, which now serves more than 130 jurisdictions in 34 states with strong quarter-over-quarter revenue growth and no live-customer churn, uses AI tools such as AutoCheck for code compliance review and a 24/7 multilingual Community Assistant, and the company intends to leverage this Series A round to extend its technology from permitting into broader government workflows over time.
