Govini has expanded its senior leadership team with the appointments of JulieAnne Evanina as Chief Marketing Officer and Crystal Benton Burnett as Senior Vice President of Communications, moves aimed at supporting the company’s next phase of growth following its 2025 valuation above unicorn status. Under CEO Tara Murphy Dougherty, Govini has built a broad customer base across the U.S. federal government and all military services, posting sustained 100% year-over-year revenue growth driven by a go-to-market strategy centered on mission alignment, product strength, and measurable customer value in defense acquisition. The company’s decision to add seasoned leaders in brand, marketing, and communications signals a deliberate effort to scale its external presence and influence in step with its financial and operational expansion across the technology and national security sectors.
Evanina will oversee all aspects of brand, marketing, and communications in support of Govini’s mission to convert defense acquisition from a slow, manual process into a strategic advantage for the United States, bringing more than two decades of experience building and scaling technology and media brands at companies such as SiriusXM and America Online. Benton Burnett will lead internal and external communications strategy, drawing on extensive experience in reputation management, public affairs, and media strategy across national security, finance, politics, and prior roles in strategic advisory and global communications firms as well as public service. Dougherty said the pair will help Govini “set the agenda and lead the conversation” as defense and national security accelerate their adoption of commercial innovation, underscoring management’s expectation that a stronger narrative and sharper positioning will be critical to capturing further market share for Ark, Govini’s AI-enabled defense acquisition software suite, and sustaining its high growth trajectory.
