The latest update is out from Virgin Australia Holdings Limited ( (AU:VGN) ).

Virgin Australia reported a strong first-half fiscal 2026 performance, with underlying EBIT rising 11.7% to $490 million and revenue up 9.3% to $3.32 billion, supported by robust leisure demand, higher yields and a growing contribution from the Velocity loyalty business. Despite inflationary pressures from airport charges and maintenance, the carrier expanded its EBIT margin to 14.8%, maintained low leverage at 0.9 times net debt to underlying EBITDA and continued to post industry-leading completion rates and improving customer satisfaction, underscoring its strengthened competitive position as it prepares for further fleet investment.

Underlying NPAT climbed 20.7% to $279 million as Virgin Australia moved into a tax-paying position following the full utilisation of tax losses, while statutory NPAT declined due to prior-year tax asset recognition effects rather than weaker trading. Management highlighted more than $200 million of transformation program benefits, ongoing cost discipline and sustained travel demand, but warned that elevated cost pressures across the aviation supply chain require vigilance to keep air travel affordable for consumers and protect the airline’s role as a challenger in the Australian market.

The most recent analyst rating on (AU:VGN) stock is a Buy with a A$4.00 price target. To see the full list of analyst forecasts on Virgin Australia Holdings Limited stock, see the AU:VGN Stock Forecast page.
