Vault Minerals has reported a fatal incident at its King of the Hills mine site in Western Australia, where an employee of subcontractor DeltaFM died after the light vehicle in which he was a passenger left a 40km/h section of the site access road. The vehicle’s driver sustained minor injuries, and no other personnel or vehicles were reported as involved.
The company notified WA Police and the state’s industry regulator, with both authorities now conducting investigations into the circumstances of the accident. Vault voluntarily suspended operations at King of the Hills to facilitate these inquiries and expects to resume mining activities today, while extending condolences to the deceased’s family and providing support to its workforce.
