Sunrise Energy Metals ( (AU:SRL) ) has issued an update.

Sunrise Energy Metals has completed a feasibility study for its Syerston Scandium Project in New South Wales, confirming a long-life, high-grade and low-cost operation designed to produce 60 tonnes per year of high-purity scandium oxide. The study outlines development costs of about US$120 million, life-of-mine cash operating costs of US$534 per kilogram and early works already underway, positioning the project as one of the world’s most capital-efficient scandium developments.

The company reports growing interest from U.S. scandium users amid tightening global supply and higher imported prices following China’s export licensing restrictions on rare earth minerals, including scandium. With a U.S. Export-Import Bank letter of interest for potential project financing and work on an expansion case to add 120 tonnes per year of capacity, Sunrise is aiming to capture a significant share of a scandium market that it expects to quintuple by 2030, enhancing its strategic role in critical mineral supply chains.
