Sheffield Resources Limited ( (AU:SFX) ) has issued an update.

Sheffield Resources has announced the immediate resignation of non-executive director John Richards, who is stepping down to focus on his chair roles at Ora Banda Mining and Sandfire Resources. Executive chair Bruce Griffin praised Richards’ nearly seven-year tenure, highlighting his guidance during the financing, construction and commissioning of the Thunderbird mineral sands operation.

The board change comes as Sheffield continues to advance its flagship Thunderbird mine through its Kimberley Mineral Sands joint venture with Yansteel and pursues growth options such as its Brazilian South Atlantic Project stake. While the company loses an experienced board member closely associated with Thunderbird’s development, the operational mine and existing governance structures at the joint venture are expected to underpin continuity for customers and investors.
