Opus One Resources Inc ( (TSE:OOR) ) has shared an update.
Opus One Gold Corp reported encouraging mineralogical results from a Laser Induced Breakdown Spectrometry study on drill core from its 100%-owned Noyell gold project in Quebec, aimed at clarifying how gold is associated with other minerals in Zone 1. The analysis shows gold and silver occur closely with sulphide minerals, mainly pyrrhotite along with arsenopyrite and pyrite, within a distinct alteration assemblage of quartz, ankerite, sericite and albite.
The study indicates that gold at Zone 1 appears to occur in a free state rather than being locked within specific host minerals, suggesting it could be more easily liberated during milling and potentially support strong recovery rates. As drilling continues with three rigs on site and a 2026 program targeting 13,000 to 14,000 metres to expand Zone 1 and test new targets, the findings bolster the project’s metallurgical outlook and could enhance the Noyell project’s overall development prospects.
