An update from NCC AB ( ($SE:NCC.B) ) is now available.
NCC has secured a contract worth about SEK 300 million from the Swedish Transport Administration to upgrade the E4 expressway between Hörnefors and Stöcksjö, a key traffic artery south of Umeå in northern Sweden. The project, booked in the NCC Industry business area in the first quarter of 2026, will start in summer 2026 and is scheduled for completion in autumn 2027.
The work includes reinforcing the road foundation, laying a new asphalt surface, improving water drainage, and rehabilitating base layers to extend the service life of one of the region’s busiest routes. Around 100,000 tons of asphalt will be milled, and more than half will be recycled and reused on nine connecting secondary roads in Västerbotten, underscoring NCC’s push to cut climate impact and enhance resource efficiency in Nordic infrastructure projects.
