National Australia Bank Limited ( (AU:NAB) ) just unveiled an announcement.

National Australia Bank reported March 2026 half-year cash earnings of $2.64 billion and statutory net profit of $2.75 billion, with underlying performance lifted by a 6.4% rise in profit once a large software capitalisation adjustment is excluded. The bank’s cash return on equity ex-large notable items reached 11.6%, supported by a 3.1% rise in revenue, business and home loan growth, and disciplined cost management, while the fully franked interim dividend remained at 85 cents per share.

Business and Private Banking continued to drive expansion, with Australian business lending up 5.6%, proprietary home loan drawdowns improving, and deposits in business and personal banking rising 4.7%, including strong growth in transaction accounts. In response to heightened geopolitical and macroeconomic uncertainty, NAB boosted forward-looking collective provisions by $300 million, lifting provision coverage ratios, while asset quality metrics generally improved and the bank reinforced its capital position via an underwritten dividend reinvestment plan and higher CET1 ratio.

The group also highlighted customer and community initiatives, including more than 200,000 proactive business customer contacts since the onset of Middle East tensions, new 24/7 fraud prevention tools, and the launch of a Community Hub in Victoria providing multilingual, specialist financial and support services. These measures underscore NAB’s strategy of supporting customers through volatility while investing in technology, risk buffers and service channels to preserve resilience and deepen customer relationships.

The most recent analyst rating on (AU:NAB) stock is a Hold with a A$43.90 price target. To see the full list of analyst forecasts on National Australia Bank Limited stock, see the AU:NAB Stock Forecast page.
