Japan Metropolitan Fund Raises ¥7 Billion in New Debt for Property Acquisition

Japan Retail Investment ( (JP:8953) ) has issued an announcement.

Japan Metropolitan Fund Investment Corporation has arranged new long-term borrowings totaling ¥7 billion from Mizuho Bank, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, and The Joyo Bank to help fund the planned acquisition of trust beneficiary rights in a Japanese property scheduled for March 2, 2026. The new loans, which are unsecured and unguaranteed with fixed interest rates to be set later, have terms of three and seven years, and will slightly increase JMF’s overall interest-bearing debt while maintaining its existing green loan and green bond balances.

Following this financing, JMF’s total long-term interest-bearing debt will rise from ¥614.845 billion to ¥621.845 billion, bringing total borrowings and corporate bonds to ¥639.645 billion. The transaction underscores the REIT’s continued use of debt markets to support portfolio growth, signaling steady leverage management as it pursues additional real estate investments in Japan’s metropolitan areas.
